Skin Care

Extremely dry skin

Extremely dry skin

Extremely dry skin occurs when there's no or very little sebum produced by the skin cause by various factors like genetics or the environment. The most effective way to treat severe dry skin is moisturizing immediately after showering.

Causes of dry skin

Dry skin can occur to anyone. But some risks could increase your chances of developing dry skin, including:

  • Age: As you age, your pores naturally produce less oil, increasing your risk of developing dry skin.
  • Medically and genetically: You’re more likely to develop eczema or allergic contact dermatitis if you have a history of these conditions or other allergic diseases in your family.
  • Changes in seasons: Dry skin is more common during the fall and winter months, when humidity levels are relatively low. In the summer, higher levels of humidity help stop your skin from drying out.
  • Bathing and showering habits: Taking frequent baths or washing with very hot water increases your risk of dry skin.

Relieving dry skin

  • When taking a bath: Use warm rather than hot water.
  • Apply moisturizer or serum immediately after washing.
  • Use an ointment or cream rather than a lotion.
  • Wear lip balm.
  • Use gentle skincare products.
  • Use a humidifier in your home.
  • Drink plenty of water.

Hazelnut Skin Serum by @beautyandskinlover

Hazelnut Skin Serum by @beautyandskinlover

To begin with I just fell in love with how it smelled and of course the package (I’m a big time sucker for beautiful packages). Its got this caramel texture smells amazing and just looks like the one you can eat it up trust me lol.

This Serum is made from hazelnut oil and macadamia oil which gives the skin a more even glow, while reducing wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid and collagen present in this also rejuvenate and hydrates the skin giving it a more youthful appearance instantly. In addition, hazelnut oil and macadamia oil help boost collagen production and help reduce hyperpigmentation. The serum refines fine lines and helps protect against sun damage.

I have been using this over few weeks now during my night time routine after cleansing toner and then this serum along with my moisturizer
First three to four days dint really notice any change at all but gradually over week I could see my fine lines between my eyebrows(basically frown lines)being reduced can you imagine like I have been trying so many stuff to reduce the appearance of it and finally found something which works for my skin!!seeing this result which made me super happy and it did give my skin more even glow.

The texture is soft and smooth doesn’t feel greasy at all and sinks into the skin immediately.

Astis is a researched backed skincare brand from The Netherlands. They believe in natural minerals, herbs and other goodness for your skin. ⁣

I first saw this gorgeous mask featured on @aqsasmovingcastle adorable page! I was so excited when they later reached out and asked if I would like to try it.⁣

•Japanese Sakura Mask•⁣

🌸The Japanese Sakura Mask is a mix of soothing ingredients and anti-aging compounds that will rejuvenate and nourish your skin.⁣

🌸Formulated with hyaluronic acid, collagen and cherry blossom to rejuvenate, hydrate, and refresh skin.⁣

-Texture/Application- Really unique texture. Kind of fluffy and whipped. You apply this generously after cleansing and leave on for 10-15 minutes. It wasn’t really noticeable whilst on. Doesn’t dry down. ⁣

-Scent- It has a moderate scent between bubblegum and floral. I found it pleasant and not artificial or irritating at all. ⁣

-Impression- I really enjoyed this mask. It was quick and easy. It was a little frustrating to get off, but I used plenty of water like the directions suggest, and then I also wiped with a wash cloth. My skin looked calm, soft, and very nourished. No irritation or redness. I continued with my typical routine after and I definitely noticed a difference between using the mask and not! I think my skin looks overall more healthy and plump. Most importantly, I could see the difference the next day too!! I definitely plan to keep this in my routine and think it is the perfect supplement for dry and dehydrated dull! [100ml- €29]⁣

💫Overall I think this mask is perfect it you are looking for some extra nourishment and want to liven up dry, dull skin!⁣

More Than Skin Deep

More Than Skin Deep
The skin is the body's outer covering and functions as a protection from heat, infection, injury, and harmful ultraviolet rays. The skin also regulates body temperature and stores water, fat, and vitamin D.

The skin has two main layers, namely:

1. Outer Epidermis - the outer layer of the skin mostly made up of flat, scale-like cells called squamous cells. The deepest part of the epidermis contains melanocytes and these cells produce
melanin that gives the skin its color.

2. Inner Dermis - this inner layer of the skin contains blood and lymph vessels, hair follicles, and glands. The glands produce sweat as part of regulating body temperature. It also produces serum, which is an oily substance that keeps the skin from drying out. When the sweat and serum reach the skin's surface through tiny openings called pores. When these pores are blocked, congested with dirt, or become infected, skin breakouts occur. Skin breakouts may come in the form of acne, pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, congested pores, and cysts.

Preventing or controlling oily skin is a must for every woman, or person for that matter. Excess oil can block the skin pores and result in more breakouts. Skin care experts may opt to prescribe certain medications like oral or injected steroids, iodides and bromides to control excessive oil production. Certain jobs, usually those that involve working in the field or in hot environments, also contribute to skin problems. The unsanitary work environment prevents a person from maintaining skin cleanliness.

Some of the more common skin care solutions include the use of the following products:

The use of these products help promote elasticity and good complexion. Proper skin maintenance takes more than just having a face-washing regimen. The use of these products is necessary to have a blemish-free skin.

1. Vitamin C Antioxidant Concentrate - is proven to stimulate the synthesis of collagen,it helps keep a youthful glow and delays the aging process of the skin.

2. 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid Oil-Control Gel - is a mattifying gel base which dissolves excess surface oil. This treatment is highly recommend for oily skin types.

A thorough skin care routine is important to keep our largest organ in tip-top shape. Other skin care tips that one should consider include having regular visits to a dermatologist; drinking plenty of water; eating a balanced diet; and getting enough sleep. To prevent skin allergies, it is important to be aware about the ingredients of every skin care product you use. Continue reading
